What is needed to build a hydraulic cylinder?
To design a cylinder we need the working force or pressure, the bore and rod diameters, the stroke, the mounting type (flange, clevis, foot or threaded) and the operating environment. If you have no drawing, the old cylinder or a similar sample can also be measured.
The choice of barrel and rod material, seal type and rod coating depends on the application; for example, heat, dust or moisture each call for different choices. After the requirements are reviewed, a design and an estimate are sent for your approval.
