How it works

A bladder accumulator stores energy in nitrogen gas. When circuit pressure rises, oil enters the shell and compresses the gas in the bladder; when pressure falls, the gas expands and pushes the oil back. This absorbs pressure peaks and provides peak flow or an emergency reserve.

Selection and maintenance

Pre-charge pressure is the key setting of an accumulator and must be checked regularly, using nitrogen only. Never use air or oxygen.
